Journalists shout justice and no to Martial Law

by: Carlyd Mae C. De Jesus and Mery Rose G. Borjal

Journalists and media men from Bulacan and BulSU’s student publications gathered and held a prayer rally for the victims of the Maguindanao massacre last December 9, 2009 at the university’s Heroes Park.

Media workers from YAMAHA Bulacan Riders, Punla, Bulacan Press Club (BPC), and student writers from Pacesetter, the university- wide publication, and those from college publications like Nurses’ Notes (CON), Cursor (CICT), The Mentors’ Journal (COEd) lit candles and offered prayers to show their sympathy to the death of their fellow journalists.

Peryodista ang tumitindig at lumalaban sa katarungan,” said Joey Rey Munsayap of BPC.

Members of student publications, meanwhile, with their slogans, expressed their opposition to the imposition of Marial Law in Maguindanao last December 5 under Proclamation No. 1959.
