English fellows hold E-circle days
AS THE ORGANIZATION THAT INITIATES AND PROMOTES the use of English as Second Language (ESL), E-circle, the society of students majoring in English, held its annual celebration last September 24 and 25 at the Students Park with the theme “English Language as a Medium in Creating Awareness to the Wonders and Innovations of this Age”. “When I saw the theme, I did not even have the time to think of such because I was attending seminars and even teaching outside the university that time. The theme was too broad. It could’ve been trimmed down into a workable size. But still, even without me, they were able to go on,” said Dr. Avelina Aquino, the new organization’s adviser, regarding this year’s theme. After the opening ceremony and parade, the organization, headed by Regina Tanalgo, prepared several competitions participated by BSEd students majoring the said subject as part of its yearly event which included extemporaneous speech, declamation, speech choir and the talent portion of the Search for Mr. and Ms. E-circle. “Though several problems occurred, still, the celebration had achieved its goals,” said Tanalgo as regards the technical problems and weather interruptions that occurred during the said celebration. Oration, word smith, chorale group, essay writing, story telling and Mr. and Ms. E-circle coronation night carried on the following day with the announcement of winners. “The winners deserve to win. We have the judges and I think they played fairly,” added Aquino in relation to the results of the activities’ winners. Possibly Related Posts:
