BulSU holds five-day Intramurals
Bearing the theme “Fellowship through Sports” to promote sportsmanship and fairness among colleges, BulSU celebrated the five-day Intramurals at the university gymnasium and Bulacan Sports Complex last August 31 to September 4. Players and muses of every college marched past around the campus for a start followed by a program attended by guest speaker Virgilio Cortez, director for Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas–Region III, giving the opening remarks about his experiences about sports during his college years. The traditional “Flame of Friendship” was done by Divina Escala, Athletics gold medalist (Women’s Division) in State University and Colleges (SUC) III and athlete of Palarong Pambansa 2009 while Ricky Echala, Chess gold medalist (Men’s Division) of SUC III 2009 stated the “Oath of Amateurism”. The College of Physical Education Recreation and Sports (COPERS) stood as the over-all champion followed by the College of Education (COEd) and College of Home Economics (CHE) which placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. The five-day celebration included different sports competition among colleges, the search for Talentadong BulSUan, Dance Sports Competition, and Ms. Intramurals 2009 won by Chrizelen Nica Reyes of the College of Arts and Letters (CAL).
