Governor Mendoza Opens Singkaban 2008
![]() “Ito ay linggo ng selebrasyon, linggo ng pagsasaya, linggo nating lahat.” Governor Joselito R. Mendoza of Bulacan said with delight in the opening of the awaited Sining at Kalinangan ng Bulacan (Singkaban) Fiesta 2008. The annual fiesta, which was held last year from September 8-15 2008 with the theme “Sipag, Husay at Talino, Tatak ng Bagong Bulakenyo” was formally opened in the front area of the province’s capitol building. Father Jose Francisco Oliveros D.D. initiated the program with a holy mass. It was followed by the flag raising commenced by the Himig ng Bulakan for the National theme and hymn, the pledge of service for the country lead by board member Joseph Guillermo and a special number offered by Barasoain Kalinangan. Subsequently followed the message of the governor wherein he commended the Bulakeño products that would give honor to the province. He mostly extolled the unity of the common people- rich or poor, who made possible the impossible- the 40,000 kilos, 200 meters in length and 4 inches in diameter pastilles that symbolized a province. “Dahil hindi lang produkto ang ating maipagmamalaki, kundi pati ang mga tao dito sa lalawigan”, he added. The governor then granted the monetary rewards to the winners of the “Banderitas Contest” succeeded by the Finance Cluster obtaining the first place. The attendees of the program accompanied the governor in opening the exhibits namely- Bulakan Travel Mart, Baro’t Hiyas Exhibit, landscaping Competition and Tatak Bulakeño Expo 2008.
